• Breakfast in bed your Majesty?

So with all the fun and games around the Mother's Day video with Charles and Camilla serving the Queen breakfast in bed (see my previous blogs for the whole story!) what does the Queen really like for breakfast?

According to my research Her Majesty is woken at 7.30am by her private maid who takes her a pot of special blend tea (made by R Twining and Co.) and a few Marie biscuits. The Queen likes her tea with milk but no sugar (just so that you know if she pops in for a cuppa!) She prefers to carry her own sweetener. The milk comes from the Royal Dairy at Windsor.

Breakfast proper will often consist of scrambled eggs and some white toast. What might surprise you dear reader is that the Royal breakfast table also has cereal and porridge oats in tupperware containers!! Tupperware? you might ask, when she has so many magnificent dinner services stashed away in the palace cupboards. Tupperware? No, I still can't get over it! Meissen perhaps but not Tupperware!

Honey is provided by a farmer on the Orkney Islands and marmalade by Frank Cooper Ltd of Esher.

See below for Charles' wonderful attempt at making Mummy's breakfast. If you don't want to attempt our Blue Peter version of the soldier egg cups you can buy some here!

Welcome to the blog for Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall Lookalike, Jane Mosse. I hope to give you an insight into what life is like when the world thinks you look like someone else!
