• Fun with the Royals

The fun started even before I'd left home with airport security wanting to search my handbag. Whilst looking through the crumpled tissues and receipts from Waitrose the member of the security staff looked at me and said, 'Don't I know you?' I replied that I didn't think so. "Did you used to do a holiday programme?" she asked. No, I replied. By this time a colleague had arrived and she too was trying to work out who I was. I kept mum.

Later that day in a cafe in Richmond a lady came up to me, "You've probably had the whole world tell you but do you know you look the image of Camilla? I had to do a double take! So there, I've told you. You could make a lot of money as a double you know!" In such situations I tend to smile sweetly and say 'Really!' but inside I'm thinking 'If only you knew!"

I can never quite understand how being on set for a day can prove to be so exhausting but somehow it is. The weekend involved a very early rise to fly out on Friday followed by another early start to get to the venue for the shoot on Saturday.

On arrival at the venue you have a video camera thrust in your face from the minute you arrive on the doorstep to the minute you leave, which can be as long as nine or ten hours. It usually takes a couple of hours to get the set ready and to get everyone into costume and make-up ready for filming. For some reason I always tend to miss out on having my hair dressed and have to do it myself but make-up is always a treat!

A long day's shoot with lots of mad video clips to be released later then off to the pub with the client and the lovely Gabriella Douglas (Kate Lookalike). We were 'spotted' by people in the pub and had the inevitable photos taken. It was only when we left that we discovered a corgi tethered outside!

Lovely to meet up with Simon (Wills lookailke) fresh from a job in Australia and Mary Reynolds (The Queen) who had spent the morning flashing her union jack knickers in a theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue for Book Week. The funny things we do!

As usual we are sworn to secrecy about the shoot but hopefully the pictures from this one will be released very soon!
