• Mother's Day with the Queen

Well, here it is at last, the long-awaited results of our recent shoot in darkest Oxforshire. A promotional piece for Body Shop to celebrate Mother's Day. But of course our Mother was a little bit special!

Working with the notorious Alison Jackson is always fun and we end up doing some pretty crazy things (like sitting on the loo blow-drying a corgi!)

My day for this shoot actually started at 5.30 a.m and ended at 7.30 p m so it was a long haul! There was a warning that the house where we were shooting was cold so while everybody else on the team was togged out in polo necked sweaters I was freezing in my nightie. Fortunately I managed to hug a corgi now and again for added warmth!

The Behind the Scenes video is yet to be released but will hopefully give you a glimpse of the real nature of the day. Several loaves of bread were burned in the making of this video and many slices of toast eaten by the corgis who, on several occasions, managed to rifle the Queen's breakfast tray before it reached her lap!

I'd never realised until I started doing this work that corgis are incredibly big dogs. Their short legs are very deceptive but they weigh around 14kg so when you're asked to lift one up you have to be wary of the tipping point! Pick them up too near their rear end and they do a sudden nose-dive! I have to say that these were the best behaved corgis I have had to work with so far. Treats do tend to focus them very effectively but that results in noses being thrust into your dressing-gown pocket when you least expect it!

It's always good fun working with my lookey-likey husband who had us in fits when he tried to smother the Queen with a pillow! He's a wonderful impersonator and always has us laughing (usually just as I'm about to be filmed doing something very serious).

So, here it is folks Mother's Day with the Queen.
